SMARTIN will be represented at the ITS World Congress 2026, taking place in Gangneung, South Korea, under the theme “Beyond Mobility, Connected World”.
The five-day event will bring together transport authorities, researchers, industry representatives and mobility experts from around the world to exchange knowledge and explore the latest developments in intelligent transport systems, connected mobility and smart cities.
SMARTIN partners BAX Innovation and MLSquared will contribute to 3 Special Interest Sessions, addressing topics closely linked to the project’s objectives, including ITS adoption, data sharing and interoperability, multimodal integration and user-centric transport solutions.
19 October | SIS008 – From Technology to Acceptance: Localized ITS Planning for Cultural, Tourism and Community Contexts
15:30–17:00 | Room 308, Convention Center
This session will explore how ITS and connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM) solutions can be adapted to different local contexts, particularly in tourism-driven, culturally diverse and mid-sized cities.
Discussions will focus on the importance of stakeholder engagement, social acceptance, governance and inclusive planning in ensuring that new mobility technologies respond to real community needs.
These themes are closely connected to SMARTIN’s user-centric approach, which involves local stakeholders in the co-creation and validation of digital mobility solutions across its four pilot sites.
21 October | SIS051 – Citiverse: Global Data Space Interoperability for Sustainable Travel and Mobility
14:00–15:30 | Room 108, Convention Center
Efficient data sharing is essential for developing connected and integrated transport systems, yet interoperability between platforms and stakeholders remains a significant challenge.
This session will examine how data spaces, digital platforms and collaborative governance frameworks can support more efficient information exchange across passenger mobility and logistics.
The discussion is particularly relevant to SMARTIN’s work on data integration and digital infrastructure, including the development of its Data Space and integrated platform to support smarter infrastructure and mobility management.
23 October | SIS098 – Integrating the Movement of People with Vehicles: What is the Reality?
11:00–12:30 | Room 109, Convention Center
How can transport systems better integrate the movement of people and vehicles to provide more seamless and efficient mobility?
This session will bring together international perspectives on multimodal transport integration, examining the role of data sharing, collaboration, data quality and user-centric solutions in connecting different mobility services.
These discussions align with SMARTIN’s ambition to improve multimodal mobility and infrastructure management, ensuring that digital solutions respond to the needs of transport users and operators.
